Managing a stage boundary

PRINCE2's stages are important control features and the boundaries of a stage mark important decision points. The project board has the decide whether to authorise the next stage and allow the project to continue, or shut it down.

Such activities cover the work of the Project Manager getting information ready for the Project Board in order for them to make a decision. Other examples include updating project documentation to represent the current information and getting a plan ready for the next stage.

The Stage Boundary process is used at the end of every stage of the project (including Initiation Stage) with the exception of the end of the project. For more information click here
