As shown in the process model, this process runs through the entirety of the project. It covers the work of the Project Board which in itself breaks down into two sections.
As mentioned above in Starting up a project, the board looks at key decision points and makes the decision as to whether the project can/will go ahead. However, giving 'ad-hoc' direction, which means providing a solution, advice or similiar for a specific problem or task as opposed to a set way of dealing with something. The Project Board should be available to provide direction to the project manager, should it be required.
